At the Voices of Pacific Island Nations (VOPIN), we are dedicated to empowering Pasefika students and families, bridging the gap between education and opportunity. As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, we face a critical challenge. Recent survey results show that more than 57% of Pacific Islander students at Bremerton High School failed math in the first semester of this academic year. This trend of underachievement has persisted for years, with Pacific Islander students consistently falling behind their peers in English, Arts, Math, and Science, and graduation rates lagging far behind the average.
